Assessing Effectiveness of Animated Instructional Media on Academic Performance and Retention of Genetics Concepts

چکیده

The present study was carried out to assess the effectiveness of animated instructional media on academic performance and retention genetic concepts among senior secondary school biology students in Sokoto State. Adopted through Quasi Experimental design involving pre-test, post-test post-posttest two equivalent groups as experimental control, population 10148 SS III Biology students. In this regard, four intact classes were chosen with sample size 238 SSIII Genetic Concept Performance Retention Test (GCPRT) instrument used for data collection. Animated Instruction Media material teach group while demonstration method control group. Independent t-test test (4) hypotheses formulated study. esults obtained line research revealed that there a significant difference ability between taught using Instructional Material those method. It therefore recommended other teachers harness considerable benefits technology, particularly animations, teaching genetics related concepts.Keywords: animated, media, performance, retention.
